A couple of months ago I designed some sabot bases to use with Infamy! Infamy!, the set of rules by TooFatLardies due to be published soon. The bases are 2mm high, same height that my infantry bases, and are glued to a 1mm magnet sheet. The holes for the infantry are 19mm in diameter, and are perfect for the 18mm washers I use as infantry bases in my 15mm units.
Richard Clarke from TooFatLardies has done a couple of videos on YouTube with the composition of each army. The Romans are going to be in groups of eight for skirmishers and close formation.
The bases where designed using Blender, 3D printed in PLA and SuperGlued to a 1mm magnet sheet. I then covered the upper part with white glue, taking care of not covering the holes, and covered everything with sand.
After the glue was dry I painted everything with Burnt Umber and highlighted it with a sand color. Then I applied a mixture of Static Grass and Blended Turf.
Four bases for Legionaries and two for Auxilia are enough for a basic force, so that's what I have for now. I should do at least one more for skirmishers, but looks like skirmishers can function without a sabot base.
